Never Miss A Moment: A Rotating Camera

Building with a rotating camera

Introduction: A Need for A Rotating Camera

With such a variety of options available, it can feel overwhelming choosing the right security cameras for your business, facility, or organization. However, by identifying the most important features you’d like in security cameras, you can narrow down your options. One of the most important features to keep in mind is the cameras’ field of view. Most security cameras have a narrow field of view, which is great for catching close-up details but not so great for getting a broader picture of what’s going on. That’s where a rotating camera comes in.

Rotating cameras can capture a much wider field of view, allowing you to see more of what’s going on around the camera. This can be especially useful for monitoring large areas. In this article, we will detail the benefits and uses of a rotating security camera.

The Benefits of a Rotating Camera

A rotating camera is a security camera that allows a user to capture images or videos from multiple angles without having to physically move the camera. There are many benefits to using a rotating camera, including:

1. Increased Flexibility: A rotating camera gives you the ability to capture images and videos from multiple angles, which can be helpful when trying to capture a specific scene or object.

2. Reduced Shake: When you rotate the camera instead of moving it, you can avoid shaky footage that can often occur when trying to hold a camera still.

3. Improved Composition: By being able to change the angle of the camera, you can experiment with different compositions to get the best results for your needs.

Why A Rotating Camera is Useful

A rotating camera is a type of surveillance camera that can rotate- sometimes even 360 degrees, allowing it to capture a wide area. This type of camera is useful because it can cover a larger area than a fixed camera. A rotating camera can also be used to zoom in on an object or person. Furthermore, a rotating camera is useful for security purposes, as it can deter and detect crime.

The Verkada Fisheye Camera: The Ideal Rotating Camera

Fisheye Camera by Verkada is capable of rotating to capture all activity

The Verkada Fisheye Camera (CF81-E) is an ideal rotating camera. With the option to switch between circle, ePTZ, 2-view, 3-view, or 4-view modes on the CF81-E, you can do away with the need for multiple camera installations. You can also take advantage of features like digital pan-tilt-zoom to increase coverage and lessen blind spots.

Three new different view modes are supported by the CF81-E. You can customize the view mode to meet the requirements of the install location.

  • 180° Panoramic: A wide-angle view that is ideal for an open area or a corridor.
  • Four-way split: Use a single camera to watch four distinct fields of view.
  • Pan-tilt-zoom (ePTZ): Provides a panoramic, all-encompassing view of your environment.
